<image:title>Community Outreach - Women in STEM & WomeninGeospatial+</image:title>
<image:caption>During my undergraduate studies, I was lucky enough to be taught and mentored by a group of female lecturers, this radically changed when I started my postgraduate studies where only a single course was taught by a female lecturer. After I completed my studies and looked back on my journey I realised how much of an effect this had, not only on myself but also on fellow female students. Having always had a keen interest in STEM representation (I worked as a STEM ambassador during my undergrad) I am determined to set a role model, challenge non-inclusive work culture, as well as support and encourage fellow colleagues. In the last couple of years, I have spoken at universities, attended career networks, and joined this speakers database. For a first insight into the topic check out this resource. A great GIS network for women is -WomeninGeospatial+.</image:caption>

<image:title>Community Outreach - Community Engagement</image:title>
<image:caption>Connecting and engaging with people within my local community is important to me. I believe that finding common ground allows us to understand problems, and their solutions, from a different perspective. Community empowerment allows us to better understand and support each other. It has been proven to increase physical fitness, lead to healthier nutrition and have a positive psychological impact. To find out more about the positive impacts of community engagement this study is a great resource.</image:caption>
